Have you been suffering from neck pain? If so, you need to read this article.
Neck pain has once again become the most common concern our new patients have at our downtown Toronto Chiropractic Clinic. Throughout the majority of the COVID-19 pandemic, low back pain was the common reason people were searching for a chiropractor.
Low back pain was the most common before due to decreased movement from staying at home. As a result, more people became stiff, tight, and more misaligned in the low back. Now that people are getting out of their home and moving more, neck pain has taken over once again as the most common chiropractic new patient concern.
One of the biggest impacts we have seen at our downtown Toronto Chiropractic clinic is workstation setup at home. Many of our chiropractic patients have been unable to have a proper workstation setup for working from home. As a result, this has led to increased slouching and forward head posture. This forward head posture results in an increased strain on the muscles that support the neck as well as place increased pressure onto the cervical spine and the spinal nerves. Given the increased number of hours people are working from home, this has resulted in more and more damage being done to the spine and the muscles of the neck. This leads to neck pain and the main reason people are looking for a chiropractor in downtown Toronto.
So how do you fix this and what should your next steps be? There are two key steps to fixing this problem. The first is adjusting your workstation setup. This can be very expensive to have an ergonomic specialist do this for you. For my chiropractic patients, it has something I have been doing free and can be done remotely.
The second solution is you need to start seeing a chiropractor. A common question I get is how do find the best chiropractor near me?
