This is the time of year where many of our patients attempt to maximize their benefits before their benefits expire on December 31st . If you are trying to maximize your benefits before the end of the year for chiropractic care and registered massage therapy, here are a few tips you need to know:
1. Don’t leave everything to the last minute. It becomes increasingly difficult to maximize your chiropractic and massage therapy benefits the later you leave it in the end of the year. We often have people asking if they can maximize their benefits with one week left, it is almost impossible to use a full year’s worth of chiropractic and registered massage therapy benefits up in one week. Our office will be closed December 24th to January 2nd as well.
2. Schedule your appointments in advance. It can be difficult to get in for your ideal spots at this time of year, particularly for massage, Jason our massage therapist gets booked up very quickly this time of year, often 1-2 weeks ahead of time. It can be very difficult to get a massage for same day. If you are also looking for a chiropractor in downtown Toronto, please book ahead with us, our new patient appointment times fill up quickly at this time of the year (even more so that usual).
3. Check if you need any notes or prescriptions beforehand so you can get reimbursed. This is particularly common for Custom Orthotics. It is also becoming more common that your extended benefits insurance provider requires a note for registered massage therapy and although rare, sometimes it is needed to get reimbursed before seeing a chiropractor.
4. For Custom Orthotics, plan to have them done by December 9th, many insurance companies require you to have your custom orthotics in your hand by the end of the year to get reimbursed.
